Civilization Steam Mac SUCKS

I bought Sid Meiers's Civilization V in October 2010 for my brand new Macbook pro. It took a significant amount of time to install. Once installed I completed the Steam application which was frustrating, because never before had I ever had to play ANY Sid Meier's Game (From Railroad Tycoon, Civ 1-4) based on the core of an independent Steam online application. I Don't Play Online games. I got the game to work, and It was great. I stopped playing the game once Spring time came around, I immediately put the game in its box and stored it safely.
Today (As the weather fell to 30*) I took out Civilization V to play. I inserted the disc, and all of a sudden the "Installation prompt window" appeared. This couldn't be right, because I had installed the game a year ago, and never uninstalled it. So as this installation prompt was on the desktop (Without any other programs running) I opened the steam application. The steam application refused to acknowledge my one and only user id, and also it refused to acknowledge my email. I clicked forgot log in information just so I could speed up the process because I have better stuff to do then dispute my user id, and password that my computer's memory even saved in its autofill with this shameful application. I click on forgot password, it makes me enter my email address and says it will send me an email. I wait, and I wait...and it's been 10 minutes...still no email in my inbox or my spam folder. In the interim. I went to applications and clicked on Civilization V, and nothing happened. I went back to Steam, I updated the software, and it said it couldn't proceed because my IPCserver was in use. So I restarted my computer. When it came on I completed the update of Steam. Now I click on the Civilization V application icon, and AGAIN Nothing happens. Steam's home/log in screen offers me to create a new User ID and I just re-create my old one, and it doesn't let me because my user id is already taken (Go figure). I go to forgot password again, and this time I click on the enter product KEY option. I enter it, and than it connects. Now it says Launching Sid Meier's Civilization V ....and this loading prompt stays up indefinitely. And The Program refuses to respond. I'm forced to FORCE QUIT STEAM!! Everything is above the requirements. I followed all of the troubleshooting, and to the best of my knowledge I presume the issue is with STEAM, the same program that couldn't get my user id , and password right, UGH! It really stinks!. I've even tried to call Aspyr for troubleshooting, and they aren't in their office at 8:00 PM. I'm so disappointed... There have been over 9 million copies of Civilization V sold, and I'm barely employed, which means I don't PLAY Video Games during Work Hours! I WORK! When I come home, I'll play a video Game THEN! Why Doesn't a multi million dollar company have at least 1 technical support employee on call for VIDEO GAME PLAYING HOURS! I knew this day would come, and that day is today. Friday the Thirteenth is an understatement for how irreversibly comatose struggling with this anal process has made me.
